PART 1: a long list of the businesses, expansions, and openings shaping island life this year

So many off-season conversations on Martha’s Vineyard revolve around “Did you hear X bought Y building?,” disappointment around businesses we loved closing, or improvements to longtime spots. I keep track of these changes each week in my newsletter so you can stay in the loop whether you’re on or off Island.

💼 New Restaurants + Food Businesses

Andrea’s Brew Coffee Cart – New mobile coffee cart for events.
Black Joy Kitchen (OB) – African diaspora comfort food with off-season pop-ups.
Iggy’s Bread (Menemsha) – Second location in the former Bite.
Indigo (Edgartown) – Indian/Mediterranean concept in the former Sharky’s.
Maker Pasta Shop & Cafe (VH) – Farm-to-table dining in the former Little House Café space.
MV Tap (VH) – New sports pub in the former Golden Bull.
Ocean Club (VH) – Fine dining in the Old Stone Bank.
Quitsa Kitchen (VH) – Fast-casual homestyle cooking in the old Life at Humphrey’s.
Revel Galley (VH) – Takeout in old Model Deli space.
Simone’s Belgian Waffles (VH) – One-season waffle shop in the Ice Box space; opened and concluded in 2025.

🛍️ New Shops + Retail Businesses

A Gallery Pop-Up (Edgartown) – Fine art pop-up at 41 Main Street.
Conrado (VH) – New clothing shop in the former Sea Bags; original store now home & gifts.
Creekville Art and Antiques + A.E. Kirkpatrick Jewelry Design (VH) – Jewelry and antiques on Main Street.
Frankie’s Revival (VH → OB) – Thrift/vintage boutique opened in Tisbury Marketplace VH; moving to Circuit Ave OB this month.
Gram’s General (OB) – General store at 24 Kennebec.
Ile Kids (VH) – New Brazilian-owned kids clothing shop in former MV Made.
Megan’s MV Boutique (Edgartown) – Women’s boutique on Winter Street.
Olive Branch Fair Trade (VH) – New Main Street location in former Bibi’s.
Oso (OB) – New clothing shop replacing Laughing Bear.
Toteally Yours (OB) – Design your own tote with custom, local patches.

💆 Wellness + Experiences + Services

Bag & Shag – New luggage pickup/delivery service.
Beehive Pros (OB) – New maintenance/handyman service in the former Santander building.
Cottage City Charters – New charter boat company offering variety of cruises.
Cura Collective (WT) – Mobile sauna and cold plunge at Radio Farm.
High V Skin – New esthetician studio.
Glow on Main (VH) – New esthetician studio.
MV Herbal Apothecary (Chilmark) – Herbal wellness shop.
MV ThrowShade – Luxury beach setup rental service.
Restorative Therapeutic Massage (VH) – New massage service.
Uncommon Bond – New experiential event/wedding planning company.

51 Art Gallery / Shoppe with the Red Door – Now at 4 Union Street.
Benito’s Hairstyling – Moved to Gypsy Barbershop (Edgartown).
Black Dog (Edgartown) – Consolidated its Edgartown footprint.
Coastal Supply Co (VH) – Now at 65 Main Street (old Leslie’s).
Nell (Edgartown) – Moved down Main Street next to The Wharf.
Square Rigger (Edgartown) – Reopened under new management.
The Edgartown Collection – Now managed by Olympia Hospitality (formerly Lark Hotels).
Tony’s Market – New ownership.
Untameable (Edgartown) – Moved to new location on Winter Street.
Vineyard Vinyasa (Edgartown) – Expanded into larger Nevin Square space.
Vineyard Medical Center – Expanded services under new ownership, including mobile clinics.

💔 Permanent Closures (Confirmed)

Bibi’s (Vineyard Haven) – Closed.
Circuit Style Salon (Oak Bluffs) – Closed.
Fern & Feather Preschool (West Tisbury) – Closed.
Glasshouse (Edgartown) – Closed.
Grey Barn & Farm (Chilmark) – Closed, potential to re-open in new way.
Linda Jean’s (Oak Bluffs) – Remained closed.
Little House Café (Vineyard Haven) – Closed.
Magnetic North (Vineyard Haven) – Closed.
Mikel Hunter (Edgartown) – Closed.
Model Deli (Vineyard Haven) – Closed.
Mocha Mott’s (Vineyard Haven) – Closed, will remain open in Oak Bluffs.
Plane View Restaurant (MV Airport, Edgartown) – Will close in January.
Slip77 (Oak Bluffs) – Will close at EOY.
The Yard (Chilmark) – Pausing programming for at least one year.
Vaalbara Supply Co (Edgartown) – Closed.
