The ten finalists from seven different countries, screen simultaneously across the world during a one-week period, with the Best Film and Best Actor awards determined by ballots cast by the audiences in each participating venue. By virtue of their selection by Manhattan Short, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified.

Habitat for Humanity Antique Show at Federated Church Parish Hall, 9a-4p
The Habitat for Humanity Antique Show, held in conjunction with the Martha's Vineyard Rotary Club, will benefit Habit for Humanity of Martha's Vineyard. Items on display include whale oil lamps, antique brass, decoys, cast iron door stops, furniture, sterling silver and plate, antique baskets and more.
Pumpkin Pickin': U-Pick and Wagon Rides at FARM Institute, 9:30-12 / info
Join us as we kick off the fall season with pumpkin picking in our one acre patch! Each family admission includes up to five guests and one you pick pumpkin. Wagon rides to visit the animals will run starting at 9:45 a.m.

Chai Tea Culinary Experience at Slough Farm, 11a-1p / info
Steep yourself in the rich tapestry of Indian culture through learning about the art of making traditional chai. This experiential program, lead by our artists in resident, Manjit Singh Hoonjan and Danielle Mulcahy, will offer participants a unique opportunity to delve into the history, rituals, and flavors that define Indian chai, while also gaining insights into the cultural significance that this beverage holds within Indian society.
Meet the Fleet at Oak Bluffs Public Library, 11a-12p / info
Meet the Coast Guard from Station Menemsha and “Touch-a-Boat.” Kids (and their families) love this event! People of all ages are welcome. Check out a U.S. Coast Guard boat at the Oak Bluffs Public Library parking lot. Many will choose to climb aboard.
Movie: Super Mario Bros at The Strand Theatre, 12 and 3p / info
Based on the Super Mario video games, the animated film follows Mario on his adventures with his friends. Mario joins forces with Princess Peach and Toad. The trio is in search of Mario's brother Luigi. Together, they hope to defeat the evil Bowser and save the Mushroom Kingdom from his destructive schemes.
Fossil Day 2023 at Union Chapel, 2-6p (Sunday too)
Free public science event suitable for all ages. This is a drop-in and mingle event. Guest presenters will display fossils and be available for discussion. Bring fossils to show to others, or to ask about. Kids' craft with Oak Bluffs Library Children's Assistant on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 2 to 4 p.m.
One Accord at Owen Park, 5-6:30p
The fourth interchurch worship event by that name. Hosted by various Island churches, with speakers and a combined music team with members from each church. All people are welcome!
Tavern Night at the Cooke House and Legacy Gardens, 4-6p / info
Join us as the Cooke House is transformed into a tavern for the evening, complete with live music by Sean and Katie McMahon, parlor and lawn games, and tavern nibbles.
LadyFest on Circuit Avenue, 5-11p / info
LadyFest, the annual female-fueled arts and music festival that raises awareness and funds for CONNECT to End Violence, will return once again to downtown Oak Bluffs. The event features musical artists from many genres including rock, soul, electronic and pop and benefits CONNECT, the local non- profit which aims to reduce domestic and sexual violence and assist victims in need. The event is free to the public but donations can be made in person on the night of the event or online at ladyfestmv.com.
