• Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby - Ongoing! / info

  • Bass in The Grass Auction - view entries at The Carnegie 10-4

• Fly Fishing Film Tour at Kismet Outfitters, 7-9p

• Play: Little Shop of Horrors at MV Performing Arts Center, 7:30-9:30p (various dates) / info

  • Island Theatre Workshop presents the cult classic: Little Shop of Horrors! Stars local talent from Martha's Vineyard's community theater, benefit Saturday.

Saturday (9/23)

• Darkness into Vineyard Light Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk at Beach Rd Edgartown, 5a

  • The walk will begin before sunrise and continue until after day break. This is symbolic of coming out of the darkness of depression and mental illness, into the light of hope and healing. Sign up

• West Tisbury Farmers' Market at Ag Hall, 9a-12p (Last Saturday of Season 10/28)

• Garden Walk at Mytoi, 10a

  • Free guided walk for adults of all levels of mobility, register with lynnmarquedant@hamv.org

• Meet the Fleet at OB Public Library, 11a-12p

  • Meet the Coast Guard from Station Menemsha and “Touch-a-Boat.” Kids (and their families) love this event! People of all ages are welcome. Check out a U.S. Coast Guard boat at the Oak Bluffs Public Library parking lot. Many will choose to climb aboard.

• Black Dog Doggie Adoption Day at Black Dog VH, 12-4

  • September is Doggie Adoption Month at the Black Dog. We have partnered with local animal shelters to bring adoptable dogs to our general stores throughout the entire month of September. Plus, 20% of each store's daily sales on its event date will be donated to our partner shelters.

• Ceremony of Remembrance at Edgartown Lighthouse, 1-2p

  • Each fall the museum hosts the Ceremony of Remembrance as a time for the family and friends of those in the memorial to gather and honor their loved ones. 

• Wetu and Fall Equinox Celebration at Sassafras Earth Education, 1-4p / info

  • Come celebrate the completion of our wetu and the fall equinox. Learn about traditional Wopanaak home building and experience this beautiful earth ship that will float us into our future. Craft, play and cook food over the fire.

• Women's Fall Fly Fishing Extravaganza at Edgartown Lighthouse, 3-5p

  • The popular annual ladies' event is back with Abbie leading the way. Join us for casting instruction, knot tying, and fall techniques to ensure successful fall fishing! The event is followed by happy hour and a raffle at Kismet Outfitters!

• Magic by Vladi Lukan at Nomans, 5-7p

• Endless Summer Charity Gala at EYC, 7-10p / info

  • A benefit for Island Autism, a nonprofit organization that serves autistic children and their families on Martha's Vineyard. Drinks, food, a silent auction and music played by the Sultans of Swing.

Sunday (9/24)

• Kids Derby Day at OB Wharf, 6-8a

  • Part of the annual Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby. For children 4-14, no registration needed.

• Vineyard Haven Library 5K Run/Walk to the Chop and Fun Run, 9:45a / info

  • The traditional 5K event will be held at the library on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. A free half-mile fun run for kids will be held at 9:45 am. The USATF sanctioned 5K course for this race begins next to the library on Greenwood Avenue, turning left onto Main street and proceeding up Main street to the West Chop Lighthouse, then returning down Main street to the library. Registration for the in-person 5k is $30 and includes t-shirt.

• Oak Bluffs Open Market at Washington Park, 10a-2p (Last one 10/8)

• Vineyard Artisans Summer Festival at Grange Hall, 10a-2p (Last one!)

• MV Mini Sound Fest parking at The Yoga Barn, 1:30-11p

  • Annual backyard MiniFest in Chilmark. Parking and shuttle at the Yoga Barn, tons of great musical acts, Art Cliff Truck, Cocktail Caravan, You Enjoy My Vegan serving their culinary delights! Family Friendly, suggested donation of $20 (or more for a free t-shirt!) to pay the artists!

• MoGlo Food Truck Pop-Up: Tailgage food, 4:30-7:30

• Music in the Park - Concerts at Ocean Park, 5:30 (Last one 10/8)
