The 66th annual Martha’s Vineyard Christmas Bird Count contributes to a global citizen science effort tracking bird populations. First Night at Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse: A free, family-focused community celebration from 6–8 pm with nonprofit-led craft tables, a DJ dance party, snacks, and a ball drop at 8 pm.
Mary Poppins Sing-Along at MV Film Center: A New Year’s Eve holiday sing-along screening of Mary Poppins at the MV Film Center.
Dining: Rockfish, 9 Craft Kitchen & Bar, Beach Road, State Road Restaurant, Salvatore’s, The Maker and Alchemy.
Nightlife The Ritz will host Johnny Hoy and Dock Street Fight Club.
Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball at the PA Club: A 21+ New Year’s Eve party runs 9 pm–1 am at the PA Club with live music by Mike Benjamin and the Keepers, hors d’oeuvres, a midnight champagne toast, a $500 costume prize, and 20% of proceeds benefiting the Island Food Pantry.

Honorary Tavern at the VFW is open all day today for Christmas, with free meals for anyone who’d like one.
West Tisbury Free Public Library Free Soup & Bread Lunch: The library is offering a free soup and bread lunch on weekdays from 11:30 am–1 pm during December school break on Dec. 22–24, Dec. 29–30, Dec. 31, and Jan. 2, with soups that are alpha-gal friendly, vegan, and gluten free.
Grace Church Community Suppers: A free vegan and alpha-gal–friendly community supper is served every Friday with takeout from 5:00–5:30 pm and dine-in from 5:30–6:30 pm. Reserve by Thursdays at 2 (508-693-0332).
