This fall, the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Fall for the Arts - an island wide-initiative to celebrate arts on MV! They’ve released a beautiful map that helps you plan your trip. Check out more here!

Art Centers, Museums and Workshops

Featherstone Center For The Arts

• Located in OB, Featherstone is a vibrant community art center offering year-round arts education and experiences for all ages and abilities on Martha's Vineyard. Galleries, studios and outdoor spaces provide creative outlets for visitors, students and artists. Through a wide-range of programming and collaborations, they strive to make art accessible to all. Info

The Field Gallery + Sculpture Garden

• The gallery hosts three spaces with rotating exhibits of paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry, and more. Outside the large field is home to the whimsical sculptures. Info

Martha’s Vineyard Museum

• Be sure to check out the latest rotating exhibits at the MV Museum, there are curated art exhibits that open here each year Info

Island Libraries

• Many island libraries offer classes year-round led by local artisans. Check out their offerings on each specific town’s site - Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, Edgartown, West Tisbury, Aquinnah, and Chilmark.

The Field Gallery

Art Experiences + Events

Oak Bluffs Summer Stroll

• From 4-7pm on the first Saturdays of July, August, and September, the Oak Bluffs Arts District put on their best show. Live music, food and drink, and lots of fine art, crafts, and fun. Info

Vineyard Artisans Markets

• These year-round markets are a link between the Island community and the Arts, providing an opportunity for both new and established Island artisans to show and sell their work. You can attend their weekly events in season, or special events over holiday weekends. Info

First Friday Vineyard Haven

• First Friday is a free community outdoor event in Vineyard Haven - they have Art, live music, and Food on the First Friday of each month June-October. Info

Chilmark Flea Market

• In late June through early September you can find island artisans at the Chilmark Flea up-island on Wednesdays and Saturdays

Oak Bluffs Open Market

• Stop by Washington Park in Oak Bluffs on Sundays from 9-1 in-season to check out island artisans and vendors. Info

Various Art Mediums

• Galaxy Gallery (OB) - The gallery features new and established Island Artists working in many different mediums. Open from May 26th through October 10th, with new themed shows every two weeks and artist receptions on every other Saturday from 4 to 6pm

• Knowhere Art Gallery (OB) - Two locations have one mission - focused on widening access to emerging and mid-career artists. The platform presents a diverse intergenerational presentation of artists and art

• Cousen Rose Gallery (OB) - Represents emerging and nationally known artists working in a variety of media, including paintings, sculpture, photography, collages and encaustics. Features new exhibits weekly - during July and August, Saturday receptions present artists and authors to the backdrop of live music, a tradition in Oak Bluffs. 

• Craftworks Gallery (OB) - Craftworks is a colorful, whimsical, and wonderful gallery representing hundreds of American Craft artists as well as local island Artists. You will find award-winning jewelry, pottery, metal sculpture, wood, hand-blown glass, floorcloths, fine art and fiber art.
