You come to MV for the views, for the quaint cottages, the unique cliffs - the New England charm. But where are the best places to capture that on your Instagram feed? What are the best backdrops for a photoshoot with friends? We’ve rounded up our favorite 18 spots (the one that we take photos of over and over again). Hopefully we’ve given you some picturesque options that fit any aesthetic.

Aquinnah Cliffs

Quite the drive, but the cliffs and lighthouse are unlike anything else you can see in the area. There is an overlook platform where you can get this angle.

Gingerbread Houses

The MV Camp Meeting Association’s Tabernacle is surrounded by colorful cottages - a great destination for a pop of brightness on a rainy day!

Oak Bluffs Fishing Pier

In our opinion, this area is most beautiful to capture when the weather is overcast or with the sunrise in the early morning.

Ocean Park OB

This location is decorated for each season, and you can see the ocean in the background.

Edgartown Light

Close up or from the HarborView deck, any angle of the lighthouse is incredible as it’s surrounded by water on the harbor.

Jaws Bridge

At certain times of year you can find people of all ages jumping off this bridge (not advisable) but it’s a throwback to a scene in Jaws, and is a gorgeous spot for sunrise.

South Beach

Those big Atlantic waves, and that soft sand!

Morning Glory Farm

We especially love MGF around halloween when they have a gorgeous array of pumpkins available, but their lineup of flowers outside is quaint anytime.

West Chop Club Overlook

West Chop overlook has limited parking, but one of the best sunset views on island that visitors often don’t get to see.

Jetty Beach, OB

Yes, there’s another side to OB harbor, and it’s got some glorious beach views, especially ones with the ferry in the background.

Black Dog Tavern Dock, VH

Black Dog is an iconic brand on the east coast, but few people realize it’s origins are from MV! A great photo with an ocean backdrop.

Vineyard Vines Oak Bluffs location

This one is for the visitors who love some preppy style!

Island Alpaca

For the animal lovers out there, this one’s for you!

East Chop Drive

It pained me to pick just one for this post out of the hundreds of views on my camera roll - but East Chop Drive is a glorious, hilly walk.

Mytoi Gardens

A bit of a trek, but worth it in fall, you can see some pretty unique views at Mytoi.

Edgartown Wharf

We love this spot for sunrise as you can see the lighthouse and the Chappy ferry!

Menemsha Fishing Village

A quaint fishing village without the frills, you see a side of MV that is similar to fishing harbors further north in New England.

North Water Street, Edgartown

Lastly, the old whaling cottages along North Water Street in Edgartown provide incredible landscaping that is picture-perfect year-round.

Get out there and tag us in your photos #mvacay - we can’t wait to see the beautiful landscapes you find on our island!
