Martha’s Vineyard is a gorgeous place to visit, regardless of where you are walking. But there a few bucket-list, incredibly scenic walks for island visitors. ~Instagrammable~ if you will. We’ve rounded up two short and two longer walks that you must do, even if you’re visiting for just a weekend!

East Chop Drive, Oak Bluffs

MV Camp Meeting Association (Oak Bluffs)

  • Where: Route to 80 Trinity Park, Oak Bluffs and walk around the tabernacle in the center

  • Length: 20 minutes, Half a Mile

  • Who: This walk is stroller friendly, but pets and bikes are not allowed

Edgartown Lighthouse + Main Street

  • Where: Route from Edgartown Inn on North Water Street to Lighthouse Beach

  • Length: 20 minutes, Half a Mile

  • Who: This walk is not stroller friendly as it goes onto the sand, and the street does not have a bike path. Pets are allowed.

East Chop Drive in Oak Bluffs

  • Where: Route from Summercamp to East Chop Lighthouse in Oak Bluffs

  • Length: 45 minutes, A mile and a half

  • Who: This walk is on an incline and at times doesn’t have a dedicated walking path. But, since it’s a public road you should be fine with a dog or stroller if you’d like

Along State Beach between Oak Bluffs + Edgartown

  • Where: Route from Noman’s to Edgartown Pizza

  • Length: 90 minutes, four miles

  • Who: This walk is flat and on a paved walking path that accommodates for strollers, dogs and bikes. It is long but you can see views of water on both sides.

You can find more walks on the MVTrails app. If you enjoy walking often, we love the pocket book entitled “Walking Trails of Martha’s Vineyard” by William Flender that you can buy in many shops on-island.

Coming soon to our blog - walks and hikes that are stroller-friendly, dog-friendly or for island residents. If you can’t tell - we love to walk 😉
