As some of you may know, our family grew by one this winter with our daughter Evelyn joining us! *Cute Baby Pic Below* With a stroller in tow these days, we’ve started to think more and more about how to navigate MV as a family. After speaking to lots of locals on this matter, we’ve rounded up and linked some of our favorite spots you can comfortably take the littles.

Our favorite Martha’s Vineyard baby :)

Amusements and Programming

  1. Flying Horses Carousel - a classic tradition and our most popular suggestion!

  2. The Cove Mini-Golf - they even feature kid-friendly snacks here

  3. Local Libraries - check out the story hours and robust programming for kiddos

    1. Oak Bluffs

    2. Vineyard Haven

    3. Edgartown

    4. West Tisbury

    5. Aquinnah

    6. Chilmark

  4. Island Alpaca Farm Visit - a new animal!

  5. Misty Meadows Equine Learning Center - they feature camps and host events often

  6. Martha’s Vineyard Museum  - exhibits for kids to enjoy

  7. Arcade in Oak Bluffs - clutch for a rainy day

  8. MV Drive-In - bring your own picnic and watch an outdoor film

  9. Pirate Ship Adventure - off the docks in OB, kids love this

  10. FARM Institute - tons of agricultural programming

  11. Boys + Girls Club - camps and playgrounds!

  12. YMCA - week-long camps and programming

Ocean Park in OB is a great open space to run around and enjoy the ocean view

Nature, Playgrounds + Exploring

  1. Go for a walk - these are kiddo friendly!

    1. Felix Neck

    2. Polly Hill Arboretum

    3. Mytoi Gardens

    4. Stroller-Friendly Nature Options: Sepiessa Pond, Ocean View Farm Preserve and Sheriff's Meadow Sanctuary are our picks!

    5. Stroller-Friendly Town Options: A walk along East Chop Drive in Oak Bluffs, within the MV Camp Meeting Association, or along state beach between OB and Vineyard Haven all have great views

  2. Go to the Playground

    1. Niantic Park

    2. Behind Airport Park

    3. Behind West Tisbury Town Hall

    4. Boys + Girls Club

    5. During the Summer: Any island Elementary Schools (these are closed to public during school hours)

  3. Obviously, the beach

    1. We suggest State Beach in Oak Bluffs because of shallow water

    2. Rainy day? You can also go to the pool at the YMCA or the Mansion House

Noman’s is a casual atmosphere with lawn games and great food options

Restaurants we love for families:

We’ve picked these because of their vast outdoor space and reputations for a kid-friendly menu:

  1. Noman’s (Oak Bluffs)

  2. Mo’s Lunch (Oak Bluffs)

  3. Nancy’s (Oak Bluffs)

  4. Katama Kitchen (Edgartown)

  5. Black Dog Tavern (Vineyard Haven)

Have other suggestions? Send us a note! Enjoy your vacay!
