21 Feb A Closer Look: The Black Dog Tavern
Passing through Vineyard Haven, there is no more reliable, solid year-round restaurant than The Black Dog Tavern. With updated classics, unique twists on comfort food, and a robust menu – any palate can find something on the menu they will love here.

I started with the Moscow Mule, Court ordered the Double Bypass Omelette, and I ordered the Lobster Grilled Cheese. Nothing better than having the option to order brunch or lunch! He enjoyed home fries and sourdough toast straight from their bakery. I savored having lobster in February and looking at the gorgeous view outside the window watching the ferries come and go.

The service was reliable, food was delicious, and location could not be beat. Additionally, if you have a few minutes before the ferry you can walk on the dock at the marina and enjoy the weather, or do a little shopping at the Black Dog shop next door.

The Black Dog gives so much to the Martha’s Vineyard community and their food does not disappoint – it is always on MVacay’s list of most recommended spots to hit on-island.
